Worth the initial strategy session

As a first-time buyer, I was a bit hesitant about the cost for college admissions consulting. I took advantage of the free initial strategy session, which was super helpful. It really clarified what they offered and made me feel better about the investment. I ended up getting the major selection guidance. It felt like a good value for the specific direction it gave me. I definitely got my money's worth from that initial free offer and the guidance I received.

So helpful with my essays!

I used College Insights for admissions essay editing and it was seriously amazing! My consultant was so supportive and gave me such great feedback. I felt so much more confident submitting my application after their help, my essay really shined. I'm telling all my friends who are applying next year, they absolutely have to use this service. I'd definitely use them again for graduate school admissions when that time comes!

How much does a full college application package typically run? Just trying to budget.

L Lisa Patel 2 months ago
It really depends on what you need. They have different packages. You gotta talk to them for an exact quote.

They don't list prices publicly, it's all custom. My package was for essay help and common app stuff, and it was a few grand. It really varies, so you have to do the free consultation to get a real number.

When's the busiest time for them? Trying to figure out when to reach out so I'm not stuck with a super busy consultant.

Definitely fall. Like Aug-Nov when everyone's scrambling to get applications in. I'd try to get started earlier if you can.

They're slammed from August through January, basically when all the applications are due. If you want more attention, earlier in the year or summer is probably better.

Thinking of signing up my twins. Do they have any kind of discount for multiple kids from the same family?

A Amber N. 2 months ago
My friend got a sibling discount when both her kids used them. You should ask about it during your initial chat.

I think I saw something about sibling discounts in their FAQs or something similar. Definitely worth mentioning it when you talk to them.

Heard about College Insights. Are they any better than say, Empowerly or IvyWise? What makes them different?

F Faith 1 month ago
I looked at a few. College Insights felt more personalized than some of the bigger ones. Less like a factory.

I went with them over CollegeVine because my friend had a really good experience. I think it comes down to the individual consultant you get, honestly. They all offer similar services.

Are there any promo codes or seasonal deals I should wait for? Or do they just not do those?

J June 2 months ago
I never saw any public promo codes. They're more about direct quotes and maybe referral credits.

Don't hold your breath for coupon codes. They don't really do percentage-off deals. Sometimes they have free webinars or something, but actual discounts are rare and usually personalized, like the sibling one.
